Cauterets

Cauterets is the closest ski resort to Chez Passet at just under twenty minutes to the centre of the town. It is a pretty spa town and was featured in the last series of Channel 4’s No Going Back. The main ski area, Cirque du Lys is reached by the new (in 2005) high speed 8 person gondola allowing 2000 people per hour to get from the village to the ski area above.

It is ski area that is best suited for a days skiing. For the intermediate to advanced skier it is possible to easily ski all runs in one day. There are plenty of off piste opportunities to be had when the conditions are right. There are beginner slopes at the top of the gondola next to the French Ski School and the large restaurant.
