Relax

Relaxing at Chez Passet is very easy to do….whether you like walking, golfing, shopping, sightseeing or visiting a Spa they are all in the surrounding area of Chez Passet.

Walking

Pont d' Espagne

There is plenty of walking in the Haute Pyrenees. We have books called Les Sentiers d’Emilie which have been published by the French Hiking Federation and plenty of maps for our guests to use for walks in our local area. We also have short walks from Chez Passet if you fancy an easy stroll or an hour or two walking. There are also the mountains, which offer spectacular walks with views out of this world.

Marmottes at the Animal Park

There are areas such as Pont d’Espagne, Gavarnie, a World Heritage Site, Pic du Midi, Bareges and Val d’Azun all with amazing views, for a days walking.

Golf

Golfing at Bagnere

From early spring, golf can be enjoyed at two local courses. The Lourdes golf club is within 10 minutes drive from Chez Passet. It is beautifully situated on the southern bank of the Lake of Lourdes. Each hole of this woodland course offers magnificent views of the Pyrenees. Golf carts and practice facilities are also available as well as a fine clubhouse with restaurant overlooking the course.

Another golf course well worth playing is 20 minutes away above the spa town of Bagnères de Bigorre. Again this offers spectacular views, with the Pic de Midi being the focal point from almost every hole. As with the Lourdes golf club, practice facilities, golf carts and restaurant facilities are available.

Lourdes

 Lourdes Chateux

Only a 5 minute drive away is Lourdes, with its beautiful monuments, churches, and the Grotto of Massabielle where the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Jesus appeared to Bernadette Soubirous. Visitors from all over the world travel to see this splendid site. Lourdes also has a Fortified Castle which over looks the town and holds the Pyrenees Museum of Popular Art and Traditions. The Pic du Jer is just a few minutes drive away and you can take the Funicular railway up to discover the sensational panoramic view at 1000m altitude.

Lourdes is a buzzing town with plenty to do and see. It has many restaurants, cafes and bars to take a well deserved break before returning to the tranquillity of Chez Passet
